From the Heart lets talk Curveballs
Blog from the heart
So here goes, in the last few months I have had a massive curveball, in fact one of the biggest I have ever had to deal with in my life.
I felt it was only fair, right and proper to let you all know where I have been and what I have been up to.
I know many people will disagree and say that you leave your personal life at the front door, but for many of us who own our own businesses, life can get in the way of business, sometimes stuff happens that you have little or no control over and yes it does affect how you work, how you operate and manage not only your life but your business too.
I am also 100% all for being authentic, real and true to my followers, my clients and my supporters. Absolutely no point being anything else. As I often say, I am not your ‘typical coach’.
I am sharing a video interview that I did with my wonderful friend and queen of rockstar coaches Emma Holmes when she did a series on ‘curveballs’.
There are many times when we can plan when something happens to us, be it kids off school sick or illness, school holidays or our own holidays or when we are super busy or need some time out. There are also times in our lives when we have little warning of an obstacle or a reality of life, those times when with the best will in the world you have not been able to ‘block out your diary/reschedule stuff’, because what has happened happens in an instant and the old saying ‘family first’ is never a truer statement.
We have had a huge family bereavement, its going to take time to grieve, get back to normal but thankfully we are fortunate enough to own our own businesses, we have been able to take some time out to care for those that matter around us and we have also been able to reflect, to work out what’s important and also to re-evaluate our own goals.
I took some of my own advice, took a step back from work, networking commitments and also anything that didn’t serve toxic relationships, friendships, and me working patterns or behaviours that no longer served me.
I have come back with a new vision, a clarity and focus in my business that is like an epiphany, a light bulb moment. I know whom I want to work with, who I want to support, inspire and motivate, the ideal clients I know I can help, the packages and coaching models I want to use and to ultimately grow my coaching practice with a more heart centred approach. I am now aligned with my business and its already proven to work for my lovely clients and me.
